Shenae Lange
Inspired by Nature
Handcrafted in Western Australia

As an incredibly talented resin artist, Shenae quite literally pours her heart into her work.

She looks to the beautiful, diverse and vast natural surrounds of WA as her inspiration and it shows in her work. You can almost hear the ocean waves lapping the beach as you look at one of her beautiful resin boards.

Shenae values sustainability and tries to minimise her environmental impact by sourcing the wood for her pieces from fallen trees at her property. She even generates her own solar power which she uses to power the machinery used in the production of her work. We value that Shenae is a friend to our planet! The resin she uses is food grade safe, meaning you can cover one of her serving boards with all sorts of delicious goodies.

“The richness I achieve comes from nature, the source of my inspiration.”
-Claude Monet-

We absolutely love having Shenae at our markets and we love hearing the stories about how our retailers came to be, so we had a chat with Shenae Lange about Shenae Lange.

Shenae how did you get started with your business?

I started my business in June last year after quitting my previous job. I needed a change and I wanted to have a career that not only made me happy but didn’t feel like work. I wanted to do something that I loved getting up in the morning for.

How are your products made?

My products are made using different materials mixed with resin to create something that is unique and one of a kind.

Is Shenae Lange a full-time business for you or is it a side hustle that you enjoy?

When I started my business, I had an "all or nothing" attitude. I wanted this to be my only focus, so for me personally full time was my only option. I scraped together what funds I had left from payouts of my old job and tax returns and invested it straight into my business as well as working long days and nights to get it off the ground running.

“When you work for yourself and by yourself, the responsibility to get everything done is all on you and sometimes it can be overwhelming but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

As a small business owner, what has been the biggest challenge that you've faced?

I face a lot of challenges, as I have worked out, running a business is not easy or for the faint hearted. If I had to choose just one of my many challenges, I would say promoting my business.

It can be very difficult to upkeep social media, advertising, directing traffic to my website and any other forms of getting my name out to the public. When you work for yourself and by yourself, the responsibility to get everything done is all on you and sometimes it can be overwhelming but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

What are your goals for the future?

My goals for the future would be to have my own workshop and more space. This would allow me to expand my business, organise it better and have a place where people can visit and see the things I make in person when I’m not at markets or if they don’t want to shop online.

What do you love about Perth Upmarket?

I love a lot of things about Perth Upmarket! I love the atmosphere that is created, especially when it’s a beautiful sunny day and you're surrounded by happy people, music and food. I also love talking to people in person and showing people what I love doing/creating every day.

Shenae, it has been our pleasure to share your story and your beautiful creations. We know that you made the right decision when you jumped out of your comfort zone and into your dreams and we hope that your story inspires others to do the same.

You can find Shenae at the November 27th Perth Upmarket from 10am - 4pm.

We 100% encourage you to stop by and see the beautiful selection of products she will have with her. We think her serving boards would make a wonderful Christmas gift and whilst you are there don’t forget to treat yourself!

If you can’t make the market – never fear! You can head to her website and use the code "CHRISTMAS22" to get 35% off when you spend over $100.00. How great is that!!?
